I first met Jan-David at Spiel Messe Essen where he provided a very insightful talk around the benefits of play-based learning on youth development. From here Jan-David provided a fantastic further insight into the benefits of the different aspects of the Warhammer Hobby on young people’s development and helped to shape the Warhammer Alliance education support programme, in particular the resources that are created to support educators. Since the collaboration, feedback on the resources has been consistently positive, with many teachers stating that it has helped them to have better conversations with their Senior Leadership Team about using games as an educational tool. I look forward to continuing work with Jan-David on future projects.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an expert in digital learning games, he not only impressed us with his specialist knowledge, but also with his practical, professional and authentic demeanor. Our participants really appreciated him, and his commitment and expertise were consistently praised. Dr. Jan-David Freund advised me on the development of the game \u201cWertemonster\u201d. Within a few moments, Dr. Freund understood the underlying intention of the game and, with his valuable advice, helped to optimize the game for use in elementary school. I would particularly like to emphasize Dr. Freund’s friendly, reflective and appreciative way of communicating, which made the exchange very pleasant even when it came to discussing points professionally. Jan-David has been supporting us as a publisher for several years now with his valuable advice on positioning and strategy in the games market. We have also benefited greatly from his expertise and good instinct for children’s games in some of our games, such as Summsalabim, which would not have been such a great game without his excellent advice. We hope to have him on board for many more projects in the future.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I approached Jan-David during SPIEL Essen 2023 to show him a game we are creating for the development of phonemic awareness for young children learning to speak English. Aside from being very kind and accomodating, Jan-David was able to give us very insightful feedback about our game mechanics and he was able to assess the educational value of our game. We hope to continue having his ear in regards to this and future games!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had Jan-David Freund as a guest speaker at our annual general meeting in Bad Rodach (at the HABA company). In addition to business management presentations, decoration suggestions and new product range ideas, it is important for us as an association to keep sharpening the actual core of our business. Why do we sell toys? What makes a really good toy?
Jan-David Freund has twice on this occasion given us an inspiring talk on the value and potential of play. He did a great job of conveying scientifically sound knowledge to us in a lighthearted and easy to grasp manner and provided exciting insights into the development of toys. His presentation on the HABA Familygroup Bildungsmanifest was entertaining and of impressive expertise. Despite their long professional experience, our attending toy retailers were able to take home a lot of useful information – especially in the field of digital toys. The ARS will be contacting Jan-David again in the future and we hope to be able to get him back for future events.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Jan-David Freund has already presented the \u201cDigital Starter\u201d from HABA Pro twice as a speaker for the Ressourcenwerkstatt Bamberg, demonstrating his extensive expertise and in-depth knowledge of digital education.
With his clear materials and practical explanations, he was not only able to convey the complex topics in a way that was easy to understand, but also to dispel people’s fears. He was also remarkably successful in inspiring the participants and boosting their self-confidence to tackle the integration of digital education into their day-to-day work.
I can recommend Dr. Jan-David Freund to anyone who wants to tackle the topic of digital education in daycare in a playful way. His passion for the subject and his commitment to early childhood education are inspiring.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Freund held a workshop on the \u201cDigital Starter\u201d games from HABA Pro at our Domb\u00fchl elementary school. In his presentation, he vividly combined theory and practice. He clearly explained the concept of \u201c Grasping the Digital by Analog Means\u201d and Computational Thinking and showed practice-oriented ways of integrating digital education into day-to-day primary school teaching. Through his precise explanations and the opportunity to experience the games for themselves, he created an interactive and valuable learning experience. He always answered questions patiently and clearly. This afternoon was very valuable for the whole teaching team and the knowledge gained will certainly be used in our future teaching. Thank you very much for this!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
